Elsa Bañuelos is Senior Counsel with the firm. She practices exclusively in
the area of labor and employment law, representing a wide variety of industries.
She represents employers before state and federal courts and administrative
agencies in all areas of employment law. Ms. Banuelos also counsels employers
in day-to-day employment relations issues such as the hiring, promoting,
discipline and termination of employees, and compliance with state and
federal employment laws. In addition, she conducts independent sexual
harassment investigations and training seminars for management personnel
on all aspects of employment law. Ms. Banuelos is a frequently featured
speaker for various trade groups and organizations, including, most recently,
the California Bankers Association and the California Employer Advisory
Council.
Prior to joining Ballard, Rosenberg, Golper, & Savitt, Ms. Banuelos
was a partner in the law firm of Ervin, Cohen & Jessup, where she headed
its Employment Law Group. She is a 1985 graduate of Boalt Hall School
of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a member of the
Employment Law Section of the California State Bar, as well as a member
of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Mexican American Bar
Association.
