We take great pleasure in announcing that Senior Counsel Christine T. Hoeffner was just selected as one of the Top 100 Women Litigators in California.
The important recognition came from the state's two legal
newspapers after soliciting peer nominations from among all of the
attorneys in California. Earlier this year, Christine was selected by Los Angeles Magazine and The Journal of Law & Politics as a 2009 "Southern California
Super Lawyer" in the field of defense-side employment litigation.
According to these publications, this recognition is reserved for only
the top 5% of attorneys in their field, based on peer recognition.
In the past year, Christine was instrumental in helping one of
the firm's clients avoid potentially millions of dollars in discovery
and liability exposure in a complex wage/hour class action. She
achieved this favorable result by obtaining an appellate order stopping
the onerous class wide discovery that the plaintiff sought and then
obtaining summary judgment against the plaintiff on all 10 class claims.
Ms. Hoeffner is part of the firm's appellate team.
In the past several years, Christine has successfully defended 12
different appeals where a plaintiff was trying to keep their case from
getting dismissed. In each of those instances, the firm had earlier
convinced the trial judge to dismiss these cases. Through Christine's
efforts, the cases were terminated. Christine also has
obtained awards of attorneys' fees against parties who unsuccessfully
sued firm clients.
Christine is a Certified Specialist in Appellate Law, State
Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, and has consistently
held a personal "A-V" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which is the
highest rating an individual can receive from this
nationally-recognized legal directory. Christine has been with
the firm since 2000 and has been handling litigated matters for over 25
years.
