From time to time we like to report on recent developments at the Firm.  In the past six months, several of the Firm's lawyers have received prestigious honors for their significant contribution to the field of labor and employment law.

Partners Ken Ballard, Richard Rosenberg, John Golper and Linda Savitt have once again received the prestigious honor of being named in the 2009 edition of the "Best Lawyers in America" for their contribution to the field of labor and employment law.  Best Lawyers in America is a publication which is distributed to in-house counsel throughout the United States.  Inclusion for this honor required a rigorous peer review which resulted in our partners receiving this accolade.  The Best Lawyers in America is the preeminent referral guide to the legal profession in the United States.  Published since 1983, Best Lawyers lists attorneys in 80 specialties, representing all 50 states and Washington, D.C., who have been chosen through an exhaustive survey in which thousands of the nation's top lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers.

Our four name partners once again were recognized by the Journal of Law and Politics and Los Angeles Magazine as Southern California Super Lawyers in the field of labor and employment law.  Also, Sr. Counsel Christine Hoeffner was honored as a 2009 Super Lawyer.  Only five percent of the state's lawyers receive this honor.

Linda Savitt also received an additional commendation, being named as one of the top 50 female lawyers in the entire state.

Partner Eric Schwettmann, along with associate Katherine Hren were also recognized as a Rising Star (under age 40) Super Lawyers.

Partner Matthew T. Wakefield, Esq., has recently been named to the list of Top 100 Labor Attorneys in the United States for 2009, as compiled by Labor Relations Institute, Inc., a leading industry information source.  According to LRI, inclusion on the list puts Matt in the top one percent of labor attorneys in the U.S., making Matt Wakefield one of the most active attorneys representing companies in National Labor Relations Board-monitored elections.  Matt was selected from more than 8,600 attorneys evaluated by Labor Relations Institute.  The honor of "Top 100" was determined by the number of NLRB elections in which each attorney provided representation and the success of those election outcomes.  "To be included in the Top 100 is a tremendous honor," according to LRI President Donald P. Wilson.  "It acknowledges these attorneys' professionalism and long-term dedication to their clients."
