Partner Named Top Litigator. BRGS is proud to announce that partner Linda Miller Savitt was recently named by the Los Angeles Daily Journal as one of the top 75 women litigators in the State of California. In 2005 Linda tried four jury trials and a court trial. Her defense of the EEOC v. Reeves case resulted in a reverse award of attorneys fees in favor of BRGS? client. So far this year she has had one jury trial and one court trial, both resulting in defense judgments against the plaintiff. She has also been successful in having three motions for summary judgment granted on behalf of the firm?s clients in 2006. Most recently she, along with Christine Hoeffner of BRGS? appellate department,
was successful in having the Court of Appeal affirm a $100,000 award of
attorneys fees in favor of our client as a result of the plaintiff having
misappropriated confidential business trade documents. Our client cross-complained
for return of the documents and obtained an injunction ordering the materials
be returned. Not only did Linda obtain a defense verdict at trial but
she also convinced the court to order plantiff to pay defendant?s attorneys
fees for having to litigate the issue of theft of trade secrets.
